Curtain Wall

High-performance curtain wall systems for complex projects

FACA is the specialised facade division within OMG.CO, delivering high-performance facade systems for complex developments. We specialise in the technical performance of a building’s skin, providing fabrication and installation expertise to ensure precision and reliability.

We understand the rigorous demands of complex projects, where precision in fabrication and seamless on-site installation are paramount. As a dedicated division, FACA delivers sophisticated curtain wall systems that meet engineering certifications and integrate smoothly with the vision of the project's lead designers and architects.

Engineered curtain wall solutions

FACA bridges the gap between complex architectural concepts and structural reality. Our goal is to ensure projects receive a high-performance curtain wall system that is not only aesthetically striking but also engineered for maximum durability and thermal efficiency.

Our capabilities include:

  • Factory-controlled manufacturing — Fabrication is completed under documented quality control processes to ensure all curtain wall components meet specified tolerances prior to installation.
  • Unitised and stick-built solutions — Whether your project requires the speed of pre-assembled unitised panels or the flexibility of stick-built curtain walls, we manage the fabrication and installation logistics.
  • Large-scale installation — Our team brings experience from tier-one project environments, where precision, coordination and risk management are critical for hoisting and securing a curtain wall facade.
  • Technical quality control — Every project undergoes rigorous quality assurance and testing to ensure the building envelope provides superior protection against wind, water and seismic movement.

FAQs

What is meant by a curtain wall?

A curtain wall is a non-structural building envelope designed to protect the interior from environmental elements. Typically comprising a lightweight aluminium frame with glass or metal infills, a curtain wall system is attached to the exterior building structure rather than supporting the weight of the floor or roof.

What is the difference between a window wall and a curtain wall?

The main difference is structural placement. A curtain wall facade hangs on the outside of floor slabs, providing a continuous skin and superior moisture management. A window wall sits between slabs. Curtain walls are generally preferred for high-rise projects because they accommodate building movement, thermal expansion and sway while maintaining facade integrity.

What are the two types of curtain walls?

The two primary curtain walls are stick-built and unitised. Stick-built systems are assembled piece by piece on-site, whereas unitised systems are pre-assembled in a factory. FACA specialises in the fabrication and installation of both systems, ensuring precise assembly, compliance with engineering specifications and seamless integration on large-scale projects.

Are curtain walls load-bearing?

No. Curtain walls are non-structural and support their own weight while resisting environmental forces such as winds, transferring these loads back to the building's primary structure. This design allows for expansive glazing without compromising the integrity of the build.
